"The Process : Nicholas Yarris - DNA to Freedom"

The Process :
Nicholas Yarris Case History - DNA to Freedom

Wrongfully Convicted and 22 years on Pennsylvania's Death Row - Case History and Exoneration.
This case is a compelling argument for moratorium of the death penalty, for the use of applicable DNA testing in every state nationwide, and an illustration of the vulnerability of the American Justice System in a capital case.

Convictions and Sentences VACATED September 3, 2003
All Charges Dropped in Delaware County, PA, December 9, 2003
Florida sentence reduced to 7 years time served, January 15, 2004
Released: January 16th, 2004

Despite his exoneration by DNA, Nick has yet to be pardoned for this crime, and his record shows this conviction uncleared.

Nick was one of the exonerated featured in the film "After Innocence" by Jessica Sanders. The film won a Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival 2005. For more info on the film and showtimes, please visit :
